Lollipop has made its way all the way to the top of almost every music chart in Korea as reported today. Since its initial release on March 27th, the digital single is now #1 on every music portals such as Dosirak, MNet,Bugs and Cyworld.
People are already buzzing about the CF that will makes its TV airwaves premiere tomorrow (April 1st) and soon the full length music video will be release and that was predicted to make an even bigger buzz in the nation.
A YG rep claimed that the popularity of Lollipop is not because of Big Bang but also because of the curiosity towards 2NE1, YG’s latest soon-to-debut girl group that consist of CL (Leader), Park Bom, MinJi and Phillipines high and rising Korean star Sandara Park. It has been confirmed that the girls will debut in early May of this year with the release of their 1st full length album. The YG rep has let us in on a secret that one of their songs in the album is entitled ‘2NE1′.
Their album were said to be produced by Big Bang’s leader, G-Dragon who also helped produced the song Lollipop togetehr with Teddy of 1TYM

So confusion has been cleared, the girls will no longer be called ‘To Anyone’ for their english group’s name however it will be called 2NE1.
A YG rep has expressed their disappointment for not overlooking at the name before confirming it and they also mentioned that they have no intensions of changing the group’s name thus instead of maintaining the name 21 to ‘To Anyone’, the girl’s english name will be 2NE1. They also pointed out to that the meaning the girls carry with the group’s name differs completely from the other artiste. It iss said that “NE” stands for New Evolution, and the “21″ also stands for the 21st century. Therefore, 2NE1 will be the new evolution of the 21st century which will also represent their music style and trends.
So now that the name game is settled, we hope for only the best for the girls,right??? Anyways, 21 are scheduled for debut around May this year.

Big Bang’s and 21’s Digital Single for the LG CYON Lollipop CF has reached the #1 spot on music sites since its release. Cyworld and Bugsmusic has confirmed so and MNet has seen the single peaking at #2 while Melon and Dosirak has the single stayed at #14 on both sites.
It is amazing that a commercial single manages to beat Son Dambi and Epik High’s comeback songs, as quoted by YG Entertainment. They also said that the numbers of requested interviews has been increasing for the girls unfortunately the girls will not be doing any TV appearance or interviews until their official debut.
As mentioned the official release of Lollipop full MV will be aired on April 3rd this year on CYON site.
It is amazing that a lot has said the image the girls has portrayed as a girl group that is fresh and unique and also of girls that can be excellent leaders in the music industry. The girls are gonna rock the KPop world and they are gonna be as big as Big Bang, well hopefully~

Controversy over a name has begun to surfaced since the day the YG Girls debuted in a CF together with Big Bang or LG CYON Lollipop. Netizens has pointed out that the group’s name ‘21′ is currently a named of a singer who posesses the same name. Only that the singer uses ‘21′ to represent ‘To Anyone’ for his concept.
Netizans also pointed out their curiousity over YG when choosing the name as they mentioned it was curious that YG wouldn’t know the existence of the singer, who debuted in 22nd May 2005 with a ballad single album entitled, ‘My Soul’s Weight’.
YG rep has not release a comment yet due to this fact but maybe an explanation will be provided soon to settles out any misunderstandings. Anyways, it has been confirmed that the girls will debut sometime in May, as soon as their Lollipop Cf promotions ends.
